Success Story: The Sale of The Shutters

Merrifields are pleased to report the sale of The Shutters, St John's Street on the edge of Bury St Edmunds town centre.
On receipt of notice that the now previous Tenant did not wish to renew their Lease, Merrifields were instructed to advise the owners on a disposal and dilapidations strategy of the 5,425 sq ft quasi retail and storage premises.
On behalf of the owners, Merrifields appointed Chris Bell of RKJ Property Consultants Ltd and Greene & Greene Solicitors to prepare and serve a terminal schedule of dilapidations upon the former Tenant. Merrifields liaised with the appointed consultants and owners throughout the process which resulted settlement agreement being reached in good time.
Simultaneously, Merrifields undertook a successful marketing campaign to sell the premises which attracted lots of interest and viewings. The premises was finally sold in May 2025 to The Flower Hut Limited who have now relocated from their former premises on Hall Farm, Fornham St Martin.
